Ladies at Tea

A few weeks ago I attended "High Tea" for Amy's birthday at The Vintage Tea Leaf in downtown Long Beach. It was so much fun, that I returned last week with Nancy, her daughter Brooke and Ruby May.

When you arrive for tea, they first take you to your table, then you need to pick out your hat, because ladies who have tea wear fabulous hats! And if you feel inclined, you may also wear a boa! Once your hat is positioned in place atop your head, it is off to pick out your cup and saucer. When we return to the table properly ready for tea, the real party begins! We had three pots of tea, Peach, Strawberries & Creme and one in the corner that I never did get around to trying... We all tried the Peach tea first. The girls had fun picking up a few too many sugar cubes for their tea with the fancy "picker uppers", as Ruby called them. Then someone, not sure who was first, discovered the Strawberries & Creme tea, which was absolutely DELICIOUS!!! We all stuck to that tea for the rest of the afternoon. We all enjoyed our traditional little finger sandwiches, giggled under our hats and talked about when we could return for another Tea Party.
