Cherry Bomb

I was reading the Fashion ROCKS magazine that came with my new Vanity Fair on Sunday and there was a book they were promoting called Cherry Bomb: The Ultimate Guide to Becoming a Better Flirt, a Tougher Chick, and a Hotter Girlfriend, and to Living Life Like a Rock Star. The title was catchy, if not the longest I've seen, it was inspired by the Runaways song of the same title, which is a favorite on mine (on my ipod) for sentimental reasons. The very next day I was driving around town running some errands and Cherry Bomb by the Runaways came on the radio. The first thing I thought of was how strange that I had just read about that book that borrowed the title. The next thing I thought about was when I was in 8th grade at South Whittier Junior High (1978) and a few of us girls were talked into performing in the 8th Grade "Talent Show" as the Runaways singing Cherry Bomb. So Alison, Nina, Cherie and myself practiced lip-syncing to Cherry Bomb for weeks. We didn't win, I think the boys who lip-synced to Led Zeppelin won. As I was singing along in my car, I realized that this song is over 30 years old and it still holds up today. I am not interested in purchasing the book, I don't need to, I could have written it myself!
