A Day in the City by the Bay

JetBlue had this very incredible deal about a month ago, for one day only you could purchase a one way ticket between Long Beach and San Francisco or Oakland for $9. There were only 6 days you could travel on, we traveled on the very last day. We arrived in San Francisco at 9:20 in the morning, hopped on BART and headed over to Dottie's True Blue Cafe for breakfast. We didn't really have a plan, there were things I wanted to see and places he wanted to stop by, but mostly we just let the day take us along... we explored Union Square in the rain, ducked into Cocoa Bella for chocolates, browsed at Chronicle Books, took a walk through Buena Yerba Gardens, checked out the Embarcadero, had a drink at Tadich Grill (the oldest restaurant in California), did some wishful shopping at Crate & Barrel and the last stop for the day before heading back to SFO for our 8:30 flight was the Tonga Room at the Fairmont Hotel that is in danger of becoming extinct. This was my first visit to the City in over a year, a place I used spend 3 days a month at. It was also our first full day spent together since New Year's Day, it was pretty special to be together doing nothing in San Francisco for the day!
